Resource Intensive But Cheap And Excellent Protection, September 19, 2012 This review is from: Internet Security 2013 Standard M2 - 3PCs/1Year (CD-ROM) I've been using Bitdefender 2011 for the past year, switched to 2012 a while ago, then upgraded to 2013. I'm using it nearly exclusively for the antivirus protection so the antispam and other features are generally things I turn off; your mileage may vary as I've seen other reviews saying those can slow down web access. As I use it, I've liked it overall, but the Bitdefender is an extremely resource intensive program. If you're using a computer old enough to be running XP, you probably shouldn't be running it. With the older 2011 version, on my Windows 7 64-bit machine I had very few problems; on my Vista 32-bit machine occasional problems; on my wife's XP laptop the software was essentially unusable. I haven't used this one long enough to comment, though I can update the review later, but past versions have been a bit flaky and required repair installation from time to time.
They've really pared back the installation package options after 2011. There are far fewer clicks... Read more

Good features but..., November 25, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Internet Security 2013 Standard M2 - 3PCs/1Year (CD-ROM) Switched to this from Avast Internet Security and while this product appears to have the edge when it comes to actually finding and removing threats it is also much more involved than Avast. I am constantly having to re-start my computer for updates, almost everyday. This product also comes with a ton of additional features that I wasn't used to and some I'll probably never use but considering they were included, and I didn't spend any more than I have in the past for internet security, this was a really good buy. I also like that this product searches out updates for Windows 7 while it is working, that is another reason for the constant restarting.
While I feel that this product offers superior security it may be a little bit overkill for the average computer user so I'd say try some of the free suites out there before buying. User-friendliness does have a dollar value and on that aspect I'd say my old program was superior (Avast).

However, Bitdefender's tech support was excellent and helped me with it. The only problem I'm having is trying to figure out how to use the Bitdefender Safepay feature. It blackens out everything but the business website you're looking at, and there's times when you want to see something on your desktop, which you can't. It is a feature I may disable.
